Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our services

Why is there no upfront cost for website development?
We believe great websites should be accessible to all businesses, not just those with £15k-£50k to spend upfront. Our monthly model (£299-£999/mo) covers hosting, maintenance, security updates, and ongoing support. You pay for the value you receive each month, not a massive one-time fee. This keeps us accountable and ensures we deliver consistent quality.
What is bespoke software development?
Bespoke software development is the process of creating custom software solutions tailored specifically to your business needs. Unlike off-the-shelf software, bespoke applications are designed from the ground up to match your exact workflows, integrate with your existing systems, and solve your unique challenges. This ensures maximum efficiency and competitive advantage.
What is a digital heritage trail?
A digital heritage trail is an interactive walking route that uses technology like AR (Augmented Reality), QR codes, and mobile apps to bring historical sites to life. Do you need permission to fly a drone survey over an industrial site?
We hold a CAA General Visual Line of Sight Certificate and Operational Authorisation, which allows us to fly commercial drone operations across the UK. For each site we prepare a site-specific flight plan covering airspace, hazards and permissions. If the site is near an airport or in controlled airspace we arrange approval with the relevant authority before the survey.
What is included in a half day studio hire?
A half day booking (three hours) includes the studio with green screen, three-camera live mix from the control gallery, autocue, full crew (camera operator, vision mixer, sound), lighting and a basic edit delivered the same day. You just need to bring your presenter and script.
How does a contractor complete an induction before arriving on site?
The contractor receives an email or link with a unique registration code. They create an account, watch the site-specific induction video, answer the assessment questions and receive a certificate if they pass. Their completion status is visible to site managers immediately. When they arrive at the gate their certificate is verified — either by showing it on their phone or by tapping their RFID card at the access reader.
How long does hardware installation take?
Most hardware installations are completed within 1-2 days with minimal disruption to your operations. Our certified engineers handle everything from initial setup to staff training.
How does an automatic roll call system work during a fire evacuation?
When the alarm sounds, EVACS instantly pulls a list of everyone signed in across all entry points. As people arrive at muster points and tap their RFID card or fob, their name is marked safe on the fire marshal's tablet. The system compares signed-in against mustered and flags anyone unaccounted for with their last known location. Full roll call is typically confirmed in under 60 seconds.
How does the emergency evacuation system work?
Our emergency evacuation system uses RFID technology to track who is on site in real-time. During an evacuation, digital muster points instantly show who has checked in, reducing roll-call time from 15+ minutes to under 30 seconds.

Can visitors do a shorter induction than staff and contractors?
Yes. The system supports different induction levels. Visitors typically complete a shorter version covering essential safety information, emergency procedures and site rules. This can be done on a tablet at reception or in advance via a link from their host. Visitors are still included in the emergency roll call for the duration of their visit.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfer (BACS), credit/debit cards, and PayPal. For ongoing subscriptions, we can set up direct debit for convenience. Payment terms are typically 30 days for invoiced work.
Can a drone survey a roof without scaffolding or a MEWP?
Yes. A drone captures high-resolution imagery of every part of the roof from the air, including areas that would be unsafe or impractical to access on foot. This is particularly valuable for fragile roofs, asbestos cement roofs, large industrial buildings and multi-level complexes where scaffold cost would be prohibitive.
Where is Resolution located?
Our headquarters are at 3 Woodfield House, Berkeley Business Centre, Doncaster Road, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, DN15 7DQ, United Kingdom. We serve clients throughout the UK and internationally.
Do we need to replace our access control to use EVACS?

Can we use our own induction video or do you produce it?
Both. We produce professional site induction videos — filmed on your site with your people, hazards and rules — and we can also incorporate existing video content you already have. Most clients choose the full production service because site-specific video is significantly more effective than generic training footage.
Do you provide remote support?
Yes, most support issues can be resolved remotely via screen sharing, remote access, or phone guidance. For hardware issues or complex installations, we can arrange on-site visits.
What weather stops a drone survey?
We do not fly in wind above 35mph, heavy rain, fog or snow. Light rain and moderate wind are manageable for most survey types. Thermal imaging surveys have additional requirements — they work best in calm conditions with a temperature differential, typically early morning or after sunset. We monitor weather forecasts and will reschedule if conditions are not suitable rather than deliver compromised data.
Are there any setup fees?
Setup fees vary by product. Our website design service has £0 upfront costs with monthly payments. Safety software may include implementation fees covering configuration, training, and hardware setup. All fees are clearly outlined in our quotes.
How many cameras are there and can you mix live?
The studio has three cameras feeding into a vision mixer in the control gallery. The gallery operator mixes the cameras live, so you get a finished programme recording as well as isolated feeds from each camera. This means less editing time after the shoot.
What happens if the network or power goes down during an evacuation?
EVACS muster point readers have battery backup and store data locally, so they continue to work even if the network drops. When connectivity is restored, data syncs automatically. The system is designed for real emergencies, not just drills — it works when it matters most.

Is there a knowledge base or documentation?
Yes, we provide comprehensive documentation, video tutorials, and a searchable knowledge base for all our products. Clients can access these resources through their account dashboard.
How are inductions kept up to date when site rules change?
You can update the induction content at any time through the portal. When you make a change, anyone whose certificate predates the update is automatically flagged for re-induction. They receive a notification and must complete the updated section before their access is renewed. This ensures everyone on site has always completed the current version.
Do you provide an autocue and can we bring our own script?
Yes, the studio has an autocue. Send us your script in advance and we load it before your session. You can also bring changes on the day. The autocue operator adjusts the speed to match your presenter.
How are visitors and contractors included in the roll call?
Visitors and contractors sign in on tablet kiosks at reception or site entry points. Their details — name, photo, host, company — are captured and they receive a temporary RFID card or fob. They are automatically included in the roll call just like permanent staff. When they sign out, they are removed from the live headcount.
What industries do you serve?
We serve a wide range of industries including manufacturing, construction, energy, mining, logistics, healthcare, education, heritage and tourism, and many more. Our solutions are adaptable to various sector requirements.

Each fire marshal sees their own muster point, while the HSE manager or incident controller sees the full picture across all locations. Multi-site organisations can monitor drills and evacuations across every premises from one dashboard.
What is your refund policy?
We stand behind our work. If you are not satisfied with a deliverable, we will work to resolve the issue. Refund terms vary by service type and are outlined in our terms of service. Software subscriptions can typically be cancelled with 30 days notice.
What is your uptime guarantee?
Our hosted solutions come with a 99.9% uptime SLA. This means less than 9 hours of downtime per year. We monitor systems 24/7 and have redundant infrastructure to ensure reliability.
Do you provide compliance certificates or documentation?
Yes, we can provide compliance certificates, data processing agreements, security documentation, and other compliance materials as required for your audits or tender submissions.
What records does the system keep and can we export them for an audit?
Every induction generates a full record: completion date, assessment score, certificate, the version of the induction completed and the expiry date. Records are searchable by individual, by contractor company, by site or by date range, and can be exported as CSV or PDF. This is the evidence HSE inspectors and auditors ask for under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management Regulations 1999.
Can you fly inside a port, refinery or steelworks?
Yes. We regularly survey active industrial sites including steelworks, refineries, ports and quarries. Each site requires a specific risk assessment and flight plan. Can you add our slides, branding or a virtual set behind the presenter?
Yes. The vision mixer can key in virtual backgrounds, branded sets, lower-third titles, logos and presentation slides live during filming. Bring your assets on the day or send them in advance and we will set them up before your session.
Does the system link to site access control or turnstiles?
Yes. The induction platform can integrate with access control systems so that only people with a valid, current induction certificate can gain entry. This works with RFID card readers, turnstiles, barrier arms and tablet-based sign-in. If an induction expires, access is automatically blocked until re-induction is completed.
What records does the system keep for fire drills and audits?
Every drill and real evacuation is logged with time-stamped records: who was on site, who mustered, who was unaccounted for, total roll call time and resolution. Reports are stored in the portal and can be exported for fire risk assessments, insurance audits, HSE inspections and ISO 45001 management reviews.
Does an electronic roll call satisfy the Fire Safety Order and ISO 45001?
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person to have procedures for evacuation and to account for people. ISO 45001 clause 8.2 requires emergency preparedness planning and testing. EVACS provides the evidence both require: documented procedures, time-stamped records of every drill, and proof that you can account for everyone on the premises.
Can one account run inductions for several sites?
Yes. The portal supports multiple sites from a single account. Each site has its own induction content, its own assessment and its own access rules, but management reporting, user administration and compliance tracking work across all sites from one dashboard.
How quickly do we get the finished video?
Most talking-head and training videos from a half day session are edited and delivered the same day. Longer projects with custom graphics, captions, multiple versions or social media cuts are typically delivered within 48 hours.
How much does a drone survey cost?
A standard half-day survey (up to about 10 hectares) starts from around £800 plus VAT. Larger sites, monthly monitoring contracts, thermal surveys and multi-sensor work are quoted individually based on area, complexity and deliverables required. We provide a fixed quote after discussing your requirements — no hidden costs and no day-rate surprises.
What should presenters wear on a green screen?
Avoid green and bright emerald colours — anything close to the green screen will become transparent. Also avoid very fine patterns (thin stripes, herringbone) as they can shimmer on camera. Reflective or shiny fabrics can pick up green spill. Solid, medium-toned colours work best. We recommend bringing two outfit options so you have a backup.
Are your pilots CAA authorised and insured?
Yes. Our pilots hold the CAA General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) and we operate under a current Operational Authorisation. Public liability insurance is in place for every commercial flight. We can provide copies of our authorisation and insurance certificate on request.
How long does installation take?
A typical single-site installation takes 1 to 2 days. This includes mounting the muster point readers, setting up the tablet sign-in stations, configuring the portal, importing your staff data and running a test drill. Multi-site rollouts are phased to minimise disruption. Full training is included.
How long does it take to set up an online induction system?
A typical setup takes four to six weeks from initial briefing to go-live. This includes the site visit, video filming and editing, portal configuration, assessment setup and testing. If you already have induction video content, the timeline can be shorter. Multi-site rollouts are phased, usually one site per week.
Do you offer studio hire for training and e-learning video?
Yes. We have produced training, induction and safety videos for industrial clients. The green screen allows us to place your presenter in front of site footage, diagrams, slides or a branded virtual classroom. The same team can also host the finished video on our online induction platform if needed.
What does an emergency mustering system cost?
The cost of an EVACS installation depends on the number of muster points, RFID readers, tablet sign-in stations, sites and any access control integrations required. A small single-site setup with two muster points starts from a few thousand pounds. We provide a detailed quote after the free demonstration, once we understand your specific requirements. You can also use our cost-benefit calculator to estimate your potential savings.
How much does an online induction system cost?
The cost depends on the number of sites, whether we produce the induction video or you supply it, the number of integrations required (access control, HR systems) and the expected user volume. We provide a detailed quote after the demonstration once we understand your requirements. You can use our cost-benefit calculator to estimate your potential savings from moving away from classroom inductions.
Do you cover sites outside Lincolnshire?
Yes. We are based in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and cover the Humber, Grimsby, Hull, Doncaster, Lincoln and Sheffield with no travel charge. The rest of the UK is covered by arrangement with travel included in the quote. We have surveyed sites from Scotland to the south coast.
